Muckross Lake, March 2013
As I write this, the UK and Ireland are in the midst of an epic late winter storm. It feels like spring, despite teasing us with its misleading imminence a few weeks ago, will never come, and here in northeast Scotland outdoor warmth feels like a distant memory. Despairing at the news of an extended winter, I found myself looking through photos from springtimes past and came across the image above, taken on a trip to Killarney, southwest Ireland. A group of us spent a weekend here to say goodbye to a friend who was about to embark on a year abroad, and this image was taken on a lazy hungover Sunday whilst ambling around Muckross and Killarney National Park, trying to shake off the excesses of the night before.
